Beyond the life of a Marriage and Family Therapist, I am a mother to a small child, stepmother to three adult children, a dog mom, and a local from San Luis Obispo (SLO) County. As far back as I can remember, I was dipping my toes into the waves at Montana de Oro and hiking the endless trails this county has to offer. By nature, I look to fill my life with adventure and know one day I will have visited every continent. I have a passion for ethnic foods (Japanese and Thai compete as my favorite) as a result of my travels and years working in the restaurant industry. In 2007, I went through a "spiritual experience", gaining my physical health back and awakening to new ways of thinking and living. I started practicing yoga in 2012, I identify as a "yogi", and found Yin to be my favorite style to practice. Yin gives me a space to turn inward and tune into my mind and body. Prior to yoga, I had limited awareness and knowledge of the impact my mind had on my body. It was then I realized I could take my personal experiences in life, educate myself further, and become a practitioner focused on the mind - body - spirit connection.
People have told me I am blessed with patience and the ability to connect with others. In the past, I climbed the corporate ladder, and I taught physical education, but neither provided me with the fulfillment I experience today. Looking back, I am incredibly grateful to have completed my education in 2016 for Marriage and Family Therapy, to practice my heart work (therapy), and have the opportunity to guide others on their journey to just "beeing". I believe all people can find peace and tranquility within and I would love to walk alongside you on your unique journey, your authentic therapeutic experience.
Happy was born down in Southern California and adopted by me at 8 weeks old, just a baby. Immediately my family knew we needed to call him Happy due to the joyful energy he brought into the world. Today he accompanies me to work and is a perfect fit in my private practice. In his free time, he loves to play fetch at the beach, tug of war and chase at the dog park, and gives lots of cuddles at home. He is prepared to engage in our therapy sessions when needed or requested. He has an intuitive nature, as most animals do, and will offer support to clients who would like to interact with him.
